Four Maintenance Precautions for Hardware Stamping Continuous Dies

Metal stamping is a common metal processing method, which applies pressure to metal plates or strips by using a mold on a press to produce plastic deformation, thus forming the desired shape and size. This process is widely used in automotive, electronics, electrical appliances, hardware products and other industries, with high production efficiency, good material utilization, product quality and stability and other advantages, is to achieve the mass production of metal parts and components of an important technical means. In the metal stamping process we also need to pay attention to the maintenance of stamping molds!
1.Maintenance of convex-concave mold
When disassembling the convex-concave mold, the original condition of the mold should be noted in order to facilitate the recovery of the subsequent mold loading; if there are pads or shifts, the thickness of the shims should be engraved on the parts and records should be made.
Replacement of the convex die should try to insert the stripping block die is smooth, and try to insert and die clearance is uniform; replacement of the concave die should also try to insert and punch clearance is uniform.
In order to repair the convex die after the convex die becomes shorter, it is necessary to add shims to reach the required length, and the effective length of the convex die should be checked to see if it is sufficient. Replacement of a broken convex die should identify the cause, and at the same time check whether the corresponding concave die has a chipped edge, and whether it is necessary to grind the edge.
When assembling the convex mold, check whether there is enough clearance between the convex mold and the fixed block or fixed plate, and check whether there is a margin for movement if there is a press block. Assemble the concave mold should be placed horizontally, and then use a flat iron block into the concave mold surface, with a copper rod will be tapped into place, do not be inclined to force knocking into the bottom of the concave mold should be chamfered. The bottom of the concave mold should be chamfered. After installation, check whether the concave mold surface is level with the mold surface.
Convex mold concave mold and mold core assembly is completed, to do the necessary checks on the care belt, whether the parts are installed wrong or reverse, check whether the concave mold and concave mold pads are installed in reverse, whether the drop holes are clogged, whether the new parts need to be stolen, need to steal the material is enough, the mold needs to be locked parts whether the locking is tight.
Pay attention to do the stripper plate screw locking confirmation, locking should be from the inside to the outside, balanced force, cross-locking, can not first lock a screw, and then lock another screw, so as not to cause the stripper plate tilted, resulting in the convex die breakage or mold precision reduction.
2.Maintenance of stripper plate
The dismantling of the stripper plate can be done by prying it up with two screwdrivers in a balanced way, and then take it out with both hands in a balanced way. When it is difficult to disassemble, we should check whether the mold is cleaned up, whether the locking screws are all disassembled, whether the mold damage caused by jamming, find out the reason and then do the corresponding treatment, do not blindly dispose of.
When assembling the stripper plate, first clean the convex mold and stripper plate, add lubricant at the guide column and convex mold introduction, put it into the smooth, then press it into place with both hands, and repeat several times. If it is too tight, we should find out the reasons (whether the guide pillar and guide sleeve are guided normally, whether there is any damage in each part, whether the new cam can pass the stripper plate smoothly, and whether the position is correct), and then deal with it accordingly.
If the fixed plate has a pressure block, check whether the give way on the stripper backing plate is sufficient. The material contact surface between the stripper plate and the concave mold, long time stamping produces indentation, when the indentation is serious, it will affect the precision of the material pressing, resulting in abnormal instability of the product size, etc., it is necessary to repair or regrind the stripper insert and the stripper plate.
Equal height sleeve should be checked for accuracy, it is not equal to the height of the stripper plate will lead to tilt, its precision guiding smooth elastic pressure function will be damaged, must be maintained.
3. Adjustment of mold clearance
Die core positioning holes are worn out due to frequent combinations of die cores, resulting in large gap after assembly (loosening after assembly) or uneven gap (resulting in positioning deviation), which will result in the deterioration of the shape of the section after punching, and the convex die will be easily broken, resulting in burrs, etc. The gap can be adjusted through the inspection of the condition of the section after punching.
When the gap is small, the section is less, when the gap is big, the section is more and the burr is bigger, and the reasonable gap is obtained by shifting. After adjustment, appropriate records should be made, also can be made in the concave mold edge mark, etc., in order to follow-up maintenance operations.
Daily production should pay attention to the collection and preservation of the original mold when the better condition of the tape, such as subsequent production is not smooth or mold variation, can be used as a reference for mold overhaul.
In addition, auxiliary systems such as whether the top feed pin is worn out, whether it is able to top feed, whether the guide pin and bushing are worn out, should be inspected and maintained.
4. Guiding parts inspection
Guide column, guide bushing clearance, whether there are burns or traces of wear, mold guided by the oil state is normal, should be checked.
Wear and precision of the guide parts of the damage to the accuracy of the mold to reduce the accuracy of the mold, mold parts will have problems, must be appropriate maintenance and regular replacement. Check the accuracy of the guide parts. If the guide pegs are worn out and have lost the accuracy and function of guiding the material belt, they must be replaced. Check the condition of the spring and the top material spring to see if it is broken or not broken for a long time, but has been fatigued to lose the original strength, must be replaced for regular maintenance, otherwise, it will cause damage to the mold or production is not smooth.
In the production of stamping dies, we need our mold personnel to do meticulous patience, careful inspection, in order to improve the life of the mold, thereby improving production efficiency, saving costs for the mold enterprise.
