The cost of production of stamped parts is mainly the cost of raw materials, according to statistics in the stamping of raw materials accounted for more than 60% of the cost of the entire product, so the rational use of materials is a very important issue in the production of stamped parts.
The arrangement method of stamping parts on steel strip or steel plate is called stamping layout. If the layout design is not reasonable, it will cause material waste. To determine whether the layout is reasonable, the main reference is the material utilization rate, that is, the percentage of the actual mask of the workpiece over the material mask.
Reduce the area of waste material, then the material utilization rate is higher. Scrap is categorized into 2 types: process scrap and structural scrap. Laps and remnants are process scrap, which is related to the way of nesting and the way of stamping. Structural scrap is determined by the shape and characteristics of the workpiece. To improve material utilization, we should start from reducing process waste and designing a reasonable press nesting plan.

What are the principles that should be followed when designing in the nesting process?
(1) as a workpiece unfolding blank map on the map repeatedly trial arrangement, to be initially determined after the orientation, at one end of the arrangement of punching, cutting, cutting waste and other workstations, and then to the other end of the arrangement of molding and other workstations in turn.

(2) Consider the necessary empty space to enhance the strength of the mold. In the stamping parts processing in the continuous deep-drawing a number of times, in the first deep-drawing after adding a spare empty workstation, in order to increase the number of deep-drawing.

(3) Consider the use of single or multiple rows according to the width of the strips in the processing of stamped parts in order to improve the utilization of the material.

(4) Pay attention to the material rolling direction, rolling direction can affect the economic effect of the row of samples, but also affect the performance of the workpiece.

(5) The burr of the bent parts should be located in the inside of the bent parts.
(6) Consider whether to cut the edge of the side edge. For thin materials can be used to guide the positive pin, do not cut the edge; for thick materials, in order to avoid the guide pin breakage, need to cut the edge.

7) Reasonable arrangement of the guide pin;
8) Do not allow bits and pieces to remain on the surface of the mold during the processing of stamped parts.
